TripAdvisor

27 January 2019

TripAdvisor is a great website for travelers and people that enjoy exploring their local area as well. The site allows people to review hotels, restaurants, attractions and more. I've been using this site for years. Sometimes most of the reviews are similar and people even include photos. Of course we will have different experiences and this is very normal as well.

I try to regularly post my reviews on this website as well as a few others. I make sure to check this website while planning my trips. When you click on a Business, the website will share the location, hours of operation and business type. If it's an attraction or  museum, then it will specify how much time people normally spend when they go. This information is very useful and helpful.

There's an option to save places to a list. For example, I saved a list titled Las Vegas. I included all the places that I wanted to visit including the hotels that we stayed at. When we woke up each day, I would go down our list of things to do and pick something.

**I highly recommend TripAdvisor. This is my personal review and it's not a paid Ad

Military Driver License Renewal

23 January 2019

Since my Husband is active duty Military, we have drivers licenses from states that we do not currently live in. It's time for us to renew our Drivers Licenses now. Mines is a GA license and my Husbands is an Alabama License. Both states allow us to renew online if our address is correct on the current license. If you have a new address then you will have to print the renewal form out and provide some proof of being active duty or a spouse.

As we know, sometimes it's hard to get the command to write a letter right away. It could take days and sometimes people wait till the last minute to renew their licenses. I suggest you start the renewal process at least 30 days before the expiration date. This will allow you some time to gather all required documents.

You are not required to get a license in your current state. In the State of Virginia, If you obtain a license, you are considered a resident. Residents have to pay property tax for their vehicles. This is in addition to vehicle registration. Make sure to check the laws in your current state if you plan to obtain a license there.

I hope I'm able to help someone with this information. Please share your experiences below. Each one, teach one!

Cayden Turns 5!

17 January 2019

Our little bright eyed Capricorn has turned 5. He's super smart, has a very large vocabulary, very inquisitive and he has a heart of gold. He's my SonShine!

We took cake to his preschool so that he could celebrate with his friends and teachers. It turned out great. When it was time for us to leave he said "can you take me on another trip now?". lol. We had only been home for 3 days and he was ready to get on another plane again.

HOMES.MIL

13 January 2019

It's PCS season for us so we've been checking out a variety of websites to look for rentals. We always use military housing as a backup in case we aren't able to secure housing before moving. I came across homes.mil and wanted to share with my fellow military families.

We are looking for a house to rent so we had to look for something that catered to our needs. I was able to find a few rentals that i'm interested in on homes.mil. The website is user friendly and offers a variety of search options, such as square feet, furnished/unfurnished, lease term and available by. Some of the rentals offer military discounts but not all. This information will be listed in the ad.

This is not a paid ad. This is my personal opinion. I'm just trying to help other families while they are going through the stressful process of PCSing.

Seven Magic Mountains

11 January 2019

While vacationing in Las Vegas, we decided to visit the Seven Magic Mountains. This was one of Caydens favorite things. He loves dirt and rocks. So of course he decided to grab some small rocks off the ground and put them in his pocket. lol. I explained to him that he couldn't take the rocks with us.

If you visit Las Vegas, Drive about 20 minutes away from the strip and you will see the magic mountains. It's a great place to stop and take pictures. There's no restroom or water/food there. We didn't need anything while there and only stayed for about 20 minutes.

Traveling with a Toddler

10 January 2019

We took 4 round trip flights this year. Cayden has become a pro when it comes to traveling. I've created a list of items that help us make traveling easy. I'm happy to share these tips with you and I hope it helps you out as well!

Backpack
We found a backpack that has a lunch box attached to it. This is his carry on. Inside the backpack is one of his favorite bears, a few toys, a jacket and a change of clothes in case he spills something on himself

Snacks
I pack his favorite snacks. He loves brownies, dry cereal, cereal bars, apple sauce, hot dogs and peanut butter & Jelly sandwiches. All of these items are perfect for the plane. I also pack condiments, napkins, utensils, cup and a stray.

Tablet
Cayden uses one of my old phones as a tablet since his actual tablet died about a year ago. We download Netflix on the phone. Then we use the offline option where your able to download shows and movies to the device to use when you do not have access to internet or wifi. This allows him to watch his shows while playing with toys and eating snacks.

Inflatable Travel Foot Rest Pillow
This last trip was our first time using the blow up pillow. It fits in the space in front of his seat and allows him to put his feet up and sleep comfortably. The height was adjustable and the only issue we had with this item is that we did not bring a small hand pump. We had to use our mouths. Very exhausting! lol This item folds up small and fits in my carry on. We purchased this from Amazon.com. (The foot rest is pictured in the above picture under Caydens feet)
